My research explores the transformational effect of art on people and society. I explore the use of arts by international humanitarian organisations and civil society during and after crises; how arts help migrants and host communities to build bridges; the construction of identity and gender through arts; performance as a non- formal means for transitional justice. My latest work focuses on how acts of care contribute to memory and bringing people together.

I have over ten years of experience coordinating humanitarian action with the Red Cross, with missions in Africa, Americas, Europe and Middle East.
